Philosophy
At Bethesda, education is viewed as an attainable goal, but a never-ending process. We provide students an opportunity to cultivate acquired knowledge through direct instruction, benchmark testing, and criterion-reference testing. This knowledge is most beneficial when they apply it to directive instruction from the teacher. Students must believe they can enhance their lifestyles by steadfast learning through Bethesda's inviting school concept. This concept fosters a partnership with school, parents, community, and Central Services.
Teachers exhibit character that students should emulate. They must continue to direct the chain links for success in students. They need support from parents so they can continue to nurture the minds of our students for excellence. All students are entitled to perform in the least restrictive environment.

Teaching
Services for Academically/Intellectually Gifted Students
Gifted students in grades 2-5 at Bethesda are served by accelerated subject area pullout for their math and language arts classes.

From I-40
Exit I-40 at the Durham Freeway (Hwy 147). Exit the Durham Freeway at Ellis Road. Turn left onto Ellis Road. Turn right on Miami Blvd. Bethesda will be on the left.
From I-85
Coming into Durham on I-85 which joins with Hwy 70, follow Hwy 70 East to S. Miami Blvd.
Turn right onto S. Miami Blvd. Bethesda will be on the left.
