DPS Pre-Kindergarten Programs
Your 4-year-old child may be eligible to attend Durham County’s NC Pre-k, Head Start, and/or Durham Public Schools. These programs all work to prepare at-risk 4-year-olds for Kindergarten.
Children must be 4 years old by August 31, 2012 (born between September 1, 2007 and August 31, 2008) to be eligible for pre-K programs.

Exceptional Children’s Programs
All students who are determined as qualifying for Exceptional Children programs will receive specific service delivery based upon the Individual Education Program (IEP).

Montessori Preschool (Watts and Morehead Magnet School)
The Montessori curriculum includes a pre-kindergarten component. Parents interested in having their children attend a Montessori school must apply through the magnet schools lottery. Space is extremely limited due to the small size of these schools.
