AP Central

Advanced Placement (AP) courses are offered at all district high schools.  AP courses are taught by highly qualified teachers and cover college-level material in order to prepare students for the College Board's AP Exam.  Many colleges and universities offer credit for passing scores on AP Exams.

Hillside High School International Baccalaureate Programme

Hillside High School is home to DPS's International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme.  IB is a rigorous academic course of study that is recognized internationally as an exceptional preparation for the university level.  This in-depth academic study offers a challenging high school experience and the potential to earn college credit.  This link will take you to Hillside's IB homepage.

NC Governor's School

Governor's School is a summer enrichment program for gifted students in a variety of academic areas.  Students are challenged to solve problems and indulge intellectual curiosities.  This nomination-based program is an excellent opportunity for advanced academic experiences for gifted students.

National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) Summer Opportunities

The NAGC is a national advocacy group for gifted children.  There are numerous opportunities and programs for gifted students you can access from this page.

North Carolina Association for the Gifted & Talented (NCAGT) Awards & Scholarships
