NC WISE Parent Assistant FAQs

Q: When I go to the Parent Assistant website I receive a message stating that there is a problem with this website's security certificate. What should I do?

A: Click on “Continue to this website…”. This error is being researched but the site is secure and the error does not denote an actual problem.

Q:Why don't I see any assessments when I click on DETAILS beside a course on the CURRENT PROGRESS screen?

A:This can be caused by two different things.  Either you have a pop-up blocker turned on in your browser which is not allowing you to see the assessments or the teacher is not checking the Post –To-Parent Assistant box for their assessments.

First check the ASSIGNMENTS screen and if you can see them for the class it is a pop-up issue and you should consider turning off the pop-up blocker for this site by telling it to allow pop-ups from ncwise.org

If that does not work call the school and make them aware of the teacher who's assessments you cannot see.

Q:Why do I receive an error after I have typed my User ID and Password and pressed Enter to login?

A:You may have typed your User ID or Password incorrectly.  Type them again and remember that they are case sensitive.

After tying your User ID and Password you may have pressed ENTER instead of clicking LOGIN.  Make sure you always click LOGIN.

Q:What should I do if I forget or lose my Parent Assistant User ID or Password?

A:You must go to the school that one of your children attends and speak to the NC WISE Data Manager so they can give you your User ID and change your lost password so it can’t be used by an unauthorized user.
