Volunteer Income Tax Assistance at SDC
For the third year, DPS will partner with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA) to offer tax preparation for DPS employees. In partnership with the Community Reinvestment Association of North Carolina (CRA-NC), the VITA program offers free tax preparation assistance to anyone whose household income is $49,000 or less - no hidden fees or back loaded costs - absolutely free. Tax preparers are trained and certified by IRS staff and available to help file your taxes six days per week. IRS-certified volunteers will be available through April 15 at the DPS Staff Development Center, 2107 Hillandale Rd. at the following times:
- Monday through Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. (Walk-ins are accepted before 6 p.m., however those persons with appointments will be served first)
- Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Walk-ins are accepted before noon)
