State Superintendent June Atkinson to Visit Jordan High
Tuesday, March 15
State Superintendent June Atkinson will visit the campus of Jordan High from 7:45 – 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15. The purpose of her visit is to meet the Career and Technical Education department and other staff. She will witness instructional practices and tour the school with several staff members. NCAGT Teacher and Administrator Awards
Friday, March 18
The North Carolina Association for the Gifted and Talented (NCAGT) has nominated two DPS educators for awards. Beth Cross, Director of Advanced Academics, has been nominated for 2011 Administrator of the Year. Diana Lisle, teacher at Club Boulevard Elementary, has been nominated for 2011 Outstanding Teacher of the Gifted. The awards luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 18 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Winston-Salem. For more information, contact the DPS Office of Advanced Academics at 919-560-2029.
Mississippi Mourning: The Emmitt Till Story

Back by popular demand, Hillside High will offer its presentation of Mississippi Mourning: The Emmitt Till Story on Saturday, March 19. The afternoon show will begin at 3:15 p.m. and the evening show at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are available now and can be purchased by calling 919-560-3925.
