Let’s Make Sure DPS “Counts”
The 2010 Decennial Census is well under way. As leaders in our community, it is important that every DPS employee participates in the Census this spring.
This time around, the Census is easier than ever. All it takes is 10 minutes -- it’s the shortest Census form in history! Census forms must be mailed back by April 15. In 2000, participation rates were 72 percent, and we want to increase the participation rate in our community.
An accurate count of the local population helps to ensure that our community receives its fair share of federal funding. This funding includes resources for services, such as health care, education and roads. Let’s do our part by making sure that all DPS employees count!
