DPS Names Four Finalists for Teacher of the Year
Durham Public Schools announces the four finalists for the 2010 DPS Teacher of the Year. These finalists were selected from Teachers of the Year who were selected by their peers from the district's 53 schools.
The four finalists for Teacher of the Year are:
- JeVar Bransome, Grades 6-8 Science, Shepard Middle School
- Emily Greenstreet, Grades 9-12 Science, Northern High School
- Rebecca Myers, Grades 6-8 Science, Rogers-Herr Middle School
- Takesha Trapp, Grades K-5, Pearsontown Elementary School
The committee will visit each of the four finalists for classroom observations in April. The 2010 Teacher of the Year will be announced at a banquet sponsored by Triangle Orthopedics and North Carolina Specialty Hospital on May 5.
