Board Hears Input Regarding Next Superintendent
The Board of Education has now heard from staff and community members regarding the experience and skills they want in the next Superintendent. Now, Board members will begin reviewing applications that have been submitted by interested candidates by the February 5 deadline.
At its January 28 meeting, members received comments from citizens regarding the Superintendent. Some 1,400 surveys were completed by staff, parents and others regarding the Superintendent.
Over the next couple of months, Board members will review applications and select and interview candidates. These meetings will be held as closed sessions in order to protect the names of those who apply. The Board is expected to name the next Superintendent in April. The North Carolina School Boards Association is conducting the search for the Board.
