Superintendent’s Media Briefing – Wednesday, May 18
Durham, NC – Superintendent Eric J. Becoats will conduct his monthly media briefing on Wednesday, May 18 at 10 a.m. The briefing will be held at Northern High School (117 Tom Wilkinson Road).
According to the district’s new strategic plan, 13 of the 120 strategies were complete at the end of April. Dr. Becoats will provide an update on the progress of those strategies along with a detailed explanation of Project READS, an exciting initiative that involves a partnership between DPS, Communities in Schools and the Harvard School of Education.
Dr. Becoats will also discuss the Bookmark project and provide an update on the collection and distribution of donated books to students for summer reading. Another topic of discussion will be high school testing. Information will be provided regarding final exams, End-of-Course tests and additional review time being scheduled each day during exam week.
