Superintendent’s Media Briefing – Wednesday, March 16
Durham, NC – Superintendent Eric J. Becoats will conduct his monthly media briefing on Wednesday, March 16 at 10 a.m. Dr. Becoats will address the upcoming Technology Showcase, an exhibit led by teachers to demonstrate how technology is transforming teaching and learning in the classroom. In addition, a Southern High teacher will show how her students are using the web application Animoto to create a trailer for the book Hunger Games.
Dr. Becoats will also provide an update on the budget process including the schedule of meetings leading up to the Board’s adoption of the budget on May 12. He will also explain where the district is on planning and implementation for Race to the Top efforts at W.G. Pearson Elementary, Lowe’s Grove Middle and Neal Middle.
The briefing will conclude with an update on the Strategic Plan. Project charters have been established and Dr. Becoats will discuss targeted completion dates and other details.
