Star Sampson Named Principal of Holt Elementary
Durham, NC – Star Sampson has been named Principal of Holt Elementary School.
Sampson will transfer from Eastway Elementary, where she has served as principal since 2004, to Holt Elementary effective July 1, 2011.
Prior to July 1, the area superintendent will work with Sampson on transition activities. Holt is a year-round school and its first day of school is July 18.
Prior to being named principal at Eastway, Sampson served for one year as an assistant principal and three years prior as a curriculum coordinator. She has 11 years teaching experience in Durham across elementary grade levels including kindergarten and first grade at Merrick Moore and third and fifth grades at Holt. Sampson holds a Master’s degree in School Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill and Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from North Carolina Central University.
