GSK--one of the world’s leading research-based pharmaceutical and healthcare companies--has given Hillside a healthy supply of computers and accessories. The equipment, which includes 50 Dell GXA towers, 26 monitors, four IBM laptops and four Hewlett-Packard LaserJet 4-Plus printers, will be used to bolster the information technology component of the Hillside High School Plan. The Hillside Plan is a comprehensive blueprint for increased student achievement. School faculty, staff, students and parents, along with several Durham Public Schools Central Services officials, worked together to craft the plan, which is in its first year of implementation. "GlaxoSmithKline has, once again, proven itself to be a superlative model of effective partnerships among corporate and community supporters and schools," said Hillside Principal Eunice Sanders. "The Hillside students and faculty are deeply grateful for this generous gift to support our efforts to increase student achievement."
