Durham Public Schools to Announce Teacher of the Year

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Durham, NC – Durham Public Schools will hold its annual Teacher of the Year Awards Banquet on Tuesday, May 3 at Croasdaile Country Club.

Each school in the district nominated a teacher of the year. The list was reduced to 10 semi-finalists and now to four finalists. The four finalists are:

  • Rose Clark – Eno Valley Elementary
  • Anne Beatty – Northern High
  • Raychelle Baptist – Shepard Magnet Middle
  • Jason Jowers – Southern School of Engineering

The Teacher of the Year will be awarded a cash prize of $1,000. Each of the other finalists will receive $500.

This year’s Teacher of the Year Awards Banquet will be sponsored by Triangle Orthopaedics and The North Carolina Specialty Hospital. The event will begin at 6 p.m. Croasdaile Country Club is located at 3800 Farm Gate Avenue.

Note: The Teacher of the Year will be available for interviews following the program.
