Bracy to lead Pearsontown Elementary School

Bracy, Principal of Clark Street Elementary School in Henderson, has been appointed principal of Pearsontown Year-Round Elementary School. He replaces Audrey Boykin, who will retire after 40 years with Durham Public Schools. Bracy has been the principal of Clark Street Elementary School for three years. Prior to that he was assistant principal of Eaton-Johnson Middle School and Zeb Vance Elementary School, both in Henderson. He has also taught at the elementary school level. “I look forward to serving as principal of Pearsontown, as I am wholly impressed with the school’s focus around student achievement and the deep level of involvement exhibited among parents and other supporters,” said Bracy. “This school has a remarkable reputation and a solid record of success, and I cannot wait to work together with the students, parents and teachers as we continue its mission.” Bracy holds a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, an M.A. in Education Administration and Supervision from Virginia State University, and a B.A. in Elementary Education from North Carolina Central University. “Eric Bracy is a wonderful choice for the Pearsontown community. He brings energy, enthusiasm, and strong leadership skills to the position,” said Superintendent Ann T. Denlinger. “I am certain that the students, teachers, parents and community supporters will greatly benefit under his guidance.” ###
