Y.E. Smith Celebrates Grand Re-Opening as Museum School
It was a celebration at Y.E. Smith Elementary School on October 23 as students, staff, parents and community members turned out to celebrate the school’s Museum designation.
Superintendent Carl Harris, Board Member Omega Curtis Parker, County Commission Vice-Chair Ellen Reckhow and others were on hand for the symbolic ribbon-cutting as Y.E. Smith Museum School was officially celebrated. Students had a major part in the celebration as they sang songs, presented skits and showed visitors the work they already have produced that was hanging from ceilings, on walls and in display cases throughout the school.
