Getting Back into the Rhythm
High school marching bands have been preparing for the upcoming football season
Durham Public Schools students involved in athletics and band have already been at school for some time.
Jordan High School’s drum corps, pictured, and their fellow band members prepare for an upcoming marching band show. The Jordan band spent two weeks earlier this month in band camp to ensure precision for their performances.
While band members are feeling the beat, their directors are doing all they can to keep them from feeling too much heat. Practices are held outside in the early morning and evening hours and inside during the hotter times of day.
