DPS Board opposes new fast-track charter school
Resolution asks State Board of Education to deny request
At the January Board meeting, the Durham Public Schools’ Board of Education adopted and signed a resolution opposing the proposed fast-track charter school, Research Triangle High School. With a disproportionate number of charter schools already operating in Durham, Board members believed the proposed new school would negatively impact the district – particularly the STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) initiative.
