COSEBOC Comes to Town

Annual Gathering of Leaders at North Carolina Central University

The Coalition of Schools Educating Boys of Color – or COSEBOC – recently held its annual Gathering of Leaders in Durham. This national conference provided a showcase for schools and their strategies for educating boys and young men of color. COSEBOC is the only national organization of educational practitioners solely focused on their educational success.

The conference theme was “Great Schools Are Not an Accident: Successful Learning Communities for Boys and Young Men of Color.” It was held on the campus of North Carolina Central University and jointly hosted by NCCU, the Durham Association of Educators and Durham Public Schools.

Many students and teachers from Durham Public Schools had an opportunity to participate in the conference.
