Board Elects Chair and Vice Chair for 2012-13
Heidi Carter to serve as Chair, Minnie Forte-Brown as Vice Chair
The Durham Public Schools Board of Education elected its leaders at an organizational meeting earlier today. The Board elected Heidi Carter as Chair and Minnie Forte-Brown as Vice Chair.
Additionally, the Honorable Senior Resident Superior Court Judge Orlando F. Hudson, Jr. was present to administer the oath of office to three Board members who were recently re-elected by the public to continue service: Leigh Bordley, Heidi Carter and Minnie Forte-Brown. Their term of office is from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2016.
Michael Perry, Director of the Durham County Board of Elections, was on hand to present the Certificate of Election to the re-elected members.
The Board also assigned committee responsibilities and approved the 2012-13 meeting calendar.
