Back to School…for our 2012 Graduates

See which colleges will welcome DPS graduates this fall

The ink on the diplomas is barely dry…and already it’s time to create the packing lists and purchase those dormitory refrigerators. Many of our recent graduates are getting ready to head off to school. But where are they going?

We recently surveyed the counselors at each of our high schools and found a few interesting tidbits about college choices:

  • The college with the highest influx of 2012 DPS graduates is Durham Technical Community College with 308.
  • The most popular four-year college choice is North Carolina Central University with 135.
  • The out-of-state college receiving the most DPS graduates is the Savannah College of Art and Design with 8.
  • The greatest number of students from the same high school going to the same college is 70…those are Jordan High graduates attending Durham Technical Community College.
  • The greatest number of students from the same high school going to the same four-year college is 31…from J.D. Clement Early College to North Carolina Central University.
