Folder 2009 National Board Certified Teachers

Durham Public Schools honored teachers who have been certified by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) and who were at a celebration on February 10. 

Folder 2010 Teacher of the Year Awards

DPS congratulates Takesha Trapp, the 2010-11 Teacher of the Year! Ms. Trapp is a fifth-grade teacher at Pearsontown Year-Round Elementary School, where she has taught for five years. Trapp was chosen from among 53 Teachers of the Year from across our district. She now will compete for the Central Region Teacher of the Year.

Folder Evening of Entertainment

More than 2,000 parents and community members filled the Durham Performing Arts Center to witness the single largest production Durham Public Schools and the DPS Scholarship Foundation present all year.  “Evening of Entertainment” featured hundreds of students of all ages from schools all around the district who wowed the crowd with song and dance.
