Cool School Cash
There's a no-cost way for parents and community members to help provide potentially thousands of dollars to Durham schools. By signing up for one of the school support programs offered by large grocery chains and discount stores, you can combine your regular shopping with a way to provide cash and goods for schools. It costs you nothing above what you already are spending for groceries and other items.
Sign-up is very easy, via the Web links below or at the stores. Last year, our schools gained thousands of dollars because parents signed up for their schools to benefit from these programs. For example, through Target's School Fund-Raising Program, several DPS high schools received more than $1,000 because parents and others designated these schools to benefit from their purchases.
Schools use these funds for instructional supplies, equipment and more. This year, we are asking all parents and others in the community to sign on so more schools will benefit. Some of our schools already benefit from strong parent participation. At other schools, community support would help tremendously. You do not have to be a parent or have children in our schools to participate. If you already shop at one of these stores, you simply need to sign-up at the store or on-line so a DPS school can benefit. School codes are listed below for your convenience. You can enroll in the program at each store if you shop at multiple stores.
