Make a Difference Day

We made a difference!

Approximately 75 volunteers gave up their time Saturday morning for Make a Difference Day at Shepard Middle School. The project focused on literacy and community service. Volunteers packed and moved hundreds of books to prepare for the move to school’s new media center. Shepard Middle is undergoing a major renovation and the new media center will be ready in a few weeks. In Addition, volunteers painted railings on the ramp near the sixth-grade trailers and spruced up the grounds. Adult and student volunteers also created cards for American troops serving in Afghanistan.

The highlight of the day for Shepard’s International Baccalaureate students involved talking to college students who are studying abroad via the Internet. The students talked about preparing for college, cultural and educational differences.

Thank you to all of the volunteers who attended Make a Difference Day. The Shepard Middle staff and students appreciate your support!
