Lowe’s Grove and Citizen Schools
<p><em><strong>WOW! Lowe’s Grove and Citizen Schools</strong></em><br /><br />The Citizen Schools program made its debut in our area at Lowe’s Grove Middle School last fall. The national program provides after-school education activities for middle school students. <br /><br />The program involves “citizen teachers,” professionals from the community who volunteer to come to the school and teach students about various career options. The students and their mentors recently had the opportunity to show Lowe’s Grove parents, teachers and community partners what they have learned and accomplished through this great partnership at a “WOW!” event held at the school.<br /><br />Durham Public Schools is very fortunate to have partnerships with both local and national businesses, corporations and non-profits that stand ready to help our students achieve at their highest levels.
