<p>Great instructional programs, well-prepared and attentive teachers,
innovative uses of resources and meaningful ways to be
involved in our schools are just a few of the many things that DPS
parents mention when asked why they have chosen Durham Public Schools
for their
children’s educational experience.</p>
<p>The level of satisfaction is growing. DPS broke a decade-old record for one year’s student population growth this school year,
with expectations that we will experience roughly the same level of growth in the coming year.</p>
<p>Why is this? Because after taking a good look at DPS,more and more
people are discovering that what we have to offer equals and in
many cases exceeds that of other options available to them. They are
learning about the many ways in which DPS helps to challenge their
children academically,
and to prepare them for college and careers.</p>
