June Atkinson Visits Jordan CTE Classes

Jordan High School hosted State Superintendent June Atkinson on Tuesday, March 15. Career and Technical Education teacher Philip Davanzo invited Ms. Atkinson to the school after meeting her at the State Fair.
The purpose of her visit was to meet the Career and Technical Education department. She visited business, computer and science classes and witnessed instructional practices while touring the school with several staff members. She even held a fat-tailed gecko in a science class.
Ms. Atkinson also conversed with students regarding careers in technology. One student had an opportunity to demonstrate the mobile app he developed. It is entitled βBit Runner.β He applied math, science and technology skills to design the game. Ms. Atkinson concluded her visit by noting how pleased she was with the teaching and learning taking place at Jordan High.
