College Fair and Montessori Middle School
Northgate Mall was the site of the 2009 Durham Public Schools College Fair held recently, where students and their parents got the chance to learn about postsecondary opportunities.
Representatives from about 100 colleges, universities and other postsecondary institutions were on hand to provide information and answer questions for students and their parents. From course offerings to the college application process to financial aid, families left the Fair with a better understanding of what might be the best fit and what they need to do to get there.
In this latest DPS Newsbrief, learn more about the Fair and about the new Montessori Magnet Middle School, which will serve sixth-graders at Watts elementary for the 2010-11 school year, then open in the renovated Lakewood YMCA for all middle grades the following year.
