Meet the New DPS Superintendent, Dr. Eric Becoats

Durham Public Schools welcomes Dr. Eric J. Becoats as new superintendent effective July 1. Dr. Becoats, Chief Administrative Officer and formerly Chief of Staff and Co-Interim Superintendent for Guilford County Schools, replaces former Superintendent Carl Harris, who left in December.
Dr. Becoats was briefly introduced to the community at the April 28 board meeting. In the coming weeks, our parents and community supporters will be hearing more about him as he prepares to listen to, learn from, and lead our district in this new decade.
