AdvancED Accreditation for DPS
Several months ago, Durham Public Schools committed to pursue district accreditation through AdvancED, the global leader in advancing educational excellence through continuous improvement and organizational effectiveness. District staff members dedicated significant time in preparation for the Quality Assurance Review Team visit. The Team of 13 professionals arrived and conducted meetings, interviews and site visits. The total number of internal and external stakeholders interviewed was 570.
A special Board of Education meeting was held, and Dr. Veronica Harts, Chair of the Quality Assurance Review Team, discussed the details of the review process along with the team’s findings. The team has recommended Durham Public Schools for district accreditation – which includes ALL schools in DPS.
