<p>Durham Public Schools Channel 4 introduces a new series, Inspired Teaching, where we will take an occasional peek into a DPS classroom to see the various types of instruction and student engagement that is going on.</p>
<p>Our inaugural episode features Treva Fitts, an E.K. Powe Elementary science teacher, who is teaching a lesson on magnets. Her stated goal is, “to create a space where students are free to experiment and explore so they can seek out the answers to their questions and not just receive the answers.”</p>
<p>We remain in awe of the talents and skills our teachers offer. After seeing Ms. Fitts and her students in action, we know you will, too!<br /><br /> <br /><br /></p>
