Beyond Our Walls: Studying Science in China
<p>Shara Weaver is a 2009 graduate of the Josephine D. Clement Early College High School. She recently competed in the 2009 Beijing Youth Science Creation Competition.</p>
<p>Shara won a Gold Medal in the Behavioral Science division. Part of her preparation for this fantastic achievement was through her work at the Early College High School, along with her participation in Project SEED, through which universities and corporations partner with school districts to encourage math and science studies among minority students.</p>
<p>Through this project, Shara conducted research on addiction at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is the recipient of a full scholarship to Wake Forest University and a BRITE scholarship to North Carolina Central University. </p>
