Under G.S. 115C-320, parents and other members of the public may request certain personnel information about school system employees, including name, current position, and date of most recent promotion, demotion, transfer, suspension, separation, or other change in position classification.  Parents may also request certain information about teachers' academic degrees and certification status as provided in the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.  Other information contained in an employee's personnel file is generally deemed confidential and protected from disclosure under G.S. 115C-319 and G.S. 115C-321.
