6030 -VENDOR RELATIONS
In all procurement activities, employees and agents of the Board shall:
A. Consider first the interests of the school system and the improvement of its educational program;
B. Endeavor to obtain the greatest value for every dollar spent;
C. Give all responsible bidders equal consideration and assurance of unbiased judgment in determining whether their products meet specifications and the educational needs of the school system;
D. Discourage the offer of and decline gifts of more than nominal value from vendors or potential vendors;
E. Refrain from soliciting funds or material from vendors, however worthy the purpose; and no employee of the Board shall have any pecuniary interest, either directly or indirectly, proximately or remotely in supplying any goods, wares or merchandise of any nature or kind whatsoever for any school, or act as an agent for any manufacturer, merchant, dealer, publisher or author for any article of merchandise to be used by any school.
