5405 -CONTRACTS FOR TEACHERS
Contracts for employment will be offered to all employees meeting the definition of teacher under
Legal Reference: G.S.115C-325(a)(5) or (6). Contracts for employment are between the Durham Public Schools Board of Education and the employee and do not guarantee assignment to a particular school. The employee must sign and return the contract to the office of the superintendent within 14 calendar days from the date of the employment letter, or the offer will be deemed withdrawn.
Contracts may include special conditions of employment. It is the responsibility of the individual employee to provide all information necessary for proper licensure and credit for prior work experience to the appropriate division of the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction or licensing agency. Contracts for any position requiring licensure will be valid only after such licensure has been secured.
