1330 -PUBLIC HEARINGS
The Board of Education may schedule public hearings by majority vote. In order to gain maximum benefit from a public hearing, the Board's role at public hearings should be as listeners. The following rules shall apply to public hearings:
1330.1 The Board may establish a time limit for each speaker. Speakers will not be recognized a second time, except with consent of the Board.
1330.2 Any person may submit written statements or other documents to the Board in addition to or in lieu of speaking.
1330.3 Board members, when recognized by the chairperson, may ask a speaker questions after the speaker has completed his or her presentation. The chairperson may limit the time for answering a Board member's questions.
1330.4 The Board shall not take action at a public hearing.
1330.5 Notice of public hearings shall be given in the same manner as for special meetings of the Board.
