County Budget to be Presented/Hearing Date Set
County Manager Michael Ruffin is slated to present his recommended budget for fiscal year 2010-2011 to the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), at their regular session meeting on Monday, May 24. The Commissioners will meet for their regular session meeting in the Commissioners Chambers, located at 200 East Main Street, beginning at 7 p.m. The meeting and presentation will be televised live on Durham Television Channel 8 and viewable on the BOCC’s website at www.durhamcountync.gov. The County Manager’s budget presentation and proposed spending plan will be available on the county’s website within 48 hours after the close of the Monday regular session meeting. Copies of the recommended spending plan are also available in the County Manager’s Office, the Office of the Clerk to the Board and at the reference sections of all Durham County libraries. A public hearing regarding fiscal year 2010-2011 budget will be held on Monday, June 14, at 7 p.m. Residents wishing to comment on the budget recommendation should contact the Clerk to the Board at 919-560-0025.
