Budget Timeline

January 21	Budget Advisory Committee meeting
January 28	Meet with principals to seek input
February 4	Budget Advisory Committee meeting
Early February	Solicit feedback and suggestions from schools and departments on 3%, 5%, 7% cuts
Beginning of March	Planning allotments for staffing will be provided to Schools
March 31	Schools must have their staffing recommendations finalized and submitted to Human Resources
April	Staff will review school recommendations and prepare related board materials
April 29	Board of Education Meeting - Presentation of Superintendent’s Budget - Board will take initial action related to contract non renewals for FY 2010-11 school year
May 6	Public Hearing followed by BOE Budget Work Session
May 12	General Assembly reconvenes for “short session” to amend its budget. It is anticipated that the Governor will not unveil her proposed budget changes until they reconvene
May 13	Special called meeting to adopt the Superintendent’s budget – following the Administrative Services Committee meeting
May 15	Board of Education budget due to Commissioners per General Statute
Late May/Early June	Joint meeting with Commissioners. Date TBD
