BIO:
Nancy Cox and her husband, Gary, a physician at Duke Medical Center, have lived in Durham for 19 years. They have one daughter currently attending Durham Public Schools and one recent graduate. Nancy graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.S. in Education and has an M.Ed. in Middle Grades from UNC Chapel Hill where she also has begun pursuit of a PhD. in Curriculum and Instruction.
In addition to being a classroom teacher for several years, Nancy has worked in education-related non-profits including the Center for Peace Education, The Center for Early Adolescence and the Durham Public Education Network. Nancy volunteers extensively in the community, including with the Durham Council of PTAs and the International Women’s Education Society, Delta Kappa Gamma.
