BIO:
Heidi and her husband Scott have lived in Durham for over 30 years and have four children who attended and graduated from Durham Public Schools. Having recently attained a Master’s degree in Maternal and Child Health at UNC,
Heidi is interested in the link between health and school performance. Along with her ongoing focus to improve academic outcomes for all students, Heidi is committed to developing policies and programs that promote the health and well-being of our youth. Heidi serves on several community committees including the Durham County Board of Health, Durham At-Risk Youth Collaborative, Student U Board, and the DPS School Health Advisory Council. Heidi has been a member of the Board of Education since 2004.
