Board Minutes - Special Meeting- October 24, 2011

The Durham Public Schools Board of Education held a special meeting on Monday, October 24 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fuller Administration Building, 511 Cleveland Street, Durham, North Carolina.

Board members present:

Minnie Forte-Brown, Chair; Heidi Carter, Vice Chair; Natalie Beyer; Nancy Cox; Leigh Bordley, Pastor Fredrick Davis and Omega Curtis Parker.

Administration present: None

Attorney present: Ann Majestic

Call to Order

Chairman Forte-Brown called the meeting to order. A moment of silence was observed.

Agenda Review and Approval

Ms. Carter made a motion to approve the agenda as presented; second by Pastor Davis; the motion passed unanimously.

Closed Session Motion

Chairman Forte-Brown called for a motion to convene in closed session to discuss confidential personnel matters pursuant to GS 143-318.11(a)(6) and 115C-319. A motion was made by Ms. Curtis Parker; second by Ms. Cox; the board convened in closed session at approximately 10:41 a.m.

Chairman Forte-Brown exited closed session at 12:21 p.m. for a previously scheduled appointment and yielded to Ms. Carter to complete the meeting.

Open Session

The board reconvened in open session at approximately 12:35 p.m.

Ms. Carter called for a motion to adjourn the meeting. On a motion made by Ms. Cox; second by Ms. Bordley, the meeting adjourned at approximately 12:36 p.m.
