How are Board of Education members elected?
Board of Education members are elected on a non-partisan basis. One member is elected at-large, one from each of four (4) voting districts numbered one (1) through four (4), and one from each of two consolidated districts denominated Consolidated District A and Consolidated District B. Board members serve four-year staggered terms. Board member terms for districts 1 through 4 expire June 30, 2010. Terms for At-large, Consolidated District A and Consolidated District B expire June 30, 2012. Questions about the election process may be secured from the Durham County Board of Elections.
